Young people and work – Independent investigation

An independent investigation into the causes of unemployment and inactivity among young people.

Led by former Health Secretary Alan Milburn, the review will examine why increasing numbers of young people are falling out of work or education before their careers have begun.

Mr Milburn will work with health providers, labour market experts and employers. He is also keen to hear from young people with experience of not being in work, education or training – and those with disabilities and mental health struggles – to identify practical recommendations for reform.
