If you’re ready to find out more about your existing skills then National Careers Service Skills Assessment Tool is a great place to start. You can assess your skills in less than 15 minutes by answering some quick multiple-choice questions about the things you like to do or are good at.

This video will give you a run-through of the tool, how it works and what the results mean:

Once you’ve finished the assessment you might want to use your results to explore different career options. You can compare different careers and see what might suit you best.

Your next step might be to call a National Careers Service adviser for free, personalised advice on 0800 100 900. They can be contacted between 8am and 10pm 7 days a week. Alternatively you might want to use The Skills Toolkit (external website) which gives you access to free, high quality courses to help you build up your skills.
